Meet puppy #6116, a gentle Shih Tzu boy with a soft black, white and brown tri-color coat, a sweet rounded face and the kind of sleepy expression that makes everyone in the room lower their voice. In his photos he is curled up in a cozy green bed wearing a little navy bandana, looking like he just finished an important nap and is already planning the next one. If you have been searching for Shih Tzu Puppies for Sale Miami families can meet in person, this calm little gentleman is a wonderful reason to visit Puppies To Go on Calle Ocho.

He was born on August 13, 2026, which makes him about nine weeks old today. At this age he is discovering new toys, new voices and new corners of the room, yet he still treasures his quiet moments in a soft bed. His relaxed personality makes him a lovely match for apartment living, for retirees looking for a devoted lap companion, or for families who want a small dog that is happiest right beside them.

A Breed With Royal Roots

The Shih Tzu traces its history back more than a thousand years to Tibet and China, where these little dogs were treasured companions in the imperial palaces. Their name is often translated as “little lion,” a nod to their flowing coat and proud, confident little walk. For centuries they were bred for one main job: keeping people company. That heritage still shows today in how much a Shih Tzu loves to be close to the people in their home.

Unlike many breeds that were developed for herding, hunting or guarding, the Shih Tzu was always meant to be a friend. That is why so many owners describe them as affectionate, cheerful and wonderfully adaptable to almost any lifestyle.

Temperament: A Calm Little Companion

Judging by his photos, #6116 has the classic easygoing Shih Tzu nature. These dogs tend to be friendly with visitors, gentle with respectful children and happy to follow their favorite person from room to room. They enjoy short bursts of play, but they are just as content to snuggle on the couch during a movie night.

What Owners Love Most

• Affection: A Shih Tzu usually wants to be part of everything you do.
• Adaptability: They do well in condos, apartments and houses alike.
• Gentle energy: Daily walks and indoor play are usually enough to keep them happy.

Size and Growth

The Shih Tzu is a toy breed with a sturdy little frame. Adults typically stand about 9 to 10.5 inches tall at the shoulder and usually weigh between 9 and 16 pounds. Most reach their adult size by around ten months, and with good care the breed commonly lives 10 to 16 years. That means this little boy could be part of your family’s story for a very long time.

Caring for His Tri-Color Coat

His black, white and brown coat is one of his most charming features. As he matures, his puppy fluff will grow into the long, silky coat the breed is known for. Shih Tzus shed very little compared with many breeds, which many families appreciate, although no dog can be considered completely allergy-free. Brushing every day or two prevents mats, and many owners choose a short, easy “puppy cut” with a groomer every four to six weeks. Keep the hair around his eyes trimmed or tied up, wipe his face gently, check his ears weekly and brush his teeth regularly.

Training a Shih Tzu Puppy

Shih Tzus are smart and respond beautifully to kindness, praise and small treats. Keep sessions short and fun, around five minutes at a time, and stay consistent. Housetraining a toy breed takes patience, so take him out after meals, naps and play, and celebrate every success. Teaching his name, sit and come early on builds a wonderful bond between you.

Socialization is just as important as training. Let him meet friendly people, hear everyday household sounds and explore new textures at his own pace. Follow your veterinarian’s guidance on when he can safely visit public places as his vaccine schedule continues.

A Small Dog for Miami Life

Many people comparing Shih Tzu Puppies for Sale Miami ask how this flat-faced breed handles the South Florida heat. The answer is simple: plan walks for the early morning or evening, avoid hot pavement, keep fresh water nearby and let him relax in the air conditioning during the warmest hours. His compact size makes him an easy companion for condo living, family visits and relaxed outings once he is fully vaccinated.
